Miss Virginia Opportunity Inc. Announces Workshop Weekend to Kick off 90th Anniversary Pageant Celebration

ROANOKE, Va. — Young women from across Virginia will gather in Roanoke on April 4-5 for the annual contestant workshop weekend, marking the official launch of the Miss Virginia Opportunity Inc.’s 90th anniversary celebration. This exciting event sets the stage for the upcoming 2025 Miss Virginia and Miss Virginia’s Teen competitions that take place in Roanoke on June 26-28.

The workshop weekend begins on Friday, April 4, when local titleholders arrive in Roanoke to watch the 7 PM

sweeps pageant, which is the final opportunity for young women to qualify for the 2025 state competitions. Two titles will be awarded: Miss Piedmont Region and Miss Blue Ridge. Last year, Carlehr Swanson, Miss Virginia 2024, was crowned Miss Blue Ridge at the sweeps pageant.

On Saturday, April 5, all Miss & Teen candidates will gather at the Shenandoah Club (24 Franklin Road SE, Roanoke, VA) for an informative workshop. Contestants will receive valuable insights about the 90th anniversary pageant week, taking place June 26-28 at the Berglund Center. Additionally, they will select their competition order for the pageant's onstage competitions.

The Miss Virginia Opportunity Inc. is an official state preliminary to Miss America, the nation’s premier empowerment platform for young women. The organization provides scholarships for young women, as well as the opportunity to pursue personal and professional goals while serving as role models in their communities.
