90 Years of Beauty and Purpose: Miss America and CEO to Honor Miss Virginia

ROANOKE, Va. — The Miss Virginia Opportunity, Inc., is honored to announce that Miss America 2025

Abbie Stockard of Alabama, and the CEO of the Miss America Opportunity, Robin Fleming, will visit

Roanoke for the 90th anniversary of the Miss Virginia Competition in June.

Stockard will be the keynote speaker of the Margaret R. Baker Charitable Foundation’s “Style Show /

Luncheon” that will take place at the Shenandoah Club at 12 p.m. Friday, June 27. About 60 Miss Virginia

and Miss Virginia’s Teen delegates will model their favorite red dresses to support the American Heart

Association’s “Go Red” for women health initiative. The AHA is a strong scholarship partner of Miss

America and Miss Virginia.

Abbie Stockard, Miss America 2025

Stockard is a 22-year-old dancer, choreographer, and proud Alabama native. A senior at Auburn

University, she is a member of the Tiger Paws Dance Team and a dedicated student in Auburn’s College

of Nursing. With plans to pursue a career as a pediatric nurse, Abbie will fully fund her education using the

$89,000 in scholarships she earned through the Miss America Opportunity.

Abbie’s commitment to service extends beyond health advocacy. She has worked with state and national

leaders to advance impactful legislation and plans to continue using her platform to amplify awareness for

CF while demonstrating the powerful influence of women in leadership. A dedicated Mission Partner and

Best Buddies Champion, Abbie has also raised funds for the American Heart Association (AHA) and was

recognized with the prestigious AHA Go Red for Women Leadership Award during the Miss America

Competition.

As a member of Auburn University’s Tiger Paws Dance Team, Abbie has experienced the transformative

power of an active and balanced lifestyle. This passion inspired her personal initiative, High Five for Kids,

which promotes the importance of establishing healthy habits early in life. Guided by five key pillars of

health, the program teaches children that wellness is not a set of rules but an exciting and attainable way

of life. Through High Five for Kids, Abbie encourages children, including those with chronic illnesses like

CF, to embrace their potential and make positive choices that will serve them for a lifetime.

Inspired by her best friend, Maddie, Abbie is a passionate advocate for Cystic Fibrosis (CF). She was

honored as the “2024 Hero of Hope” by the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation and named an Official National

Ambassador for the organization. Her advocacy efforts have raised over $200,000 for CF research,

including leading Alabama’s largest CF fundraiser and collaborating with researchers nationwide to

accelerate progress toward a cure.

Abbie exemplifies the organization’s mission of service, scholarship, and leadership. She strives to

empower ambitious young women, leaving a legacy of advocacy and purpose while continuing her

relentless fight for a cure for Cystic Fibrosis.

Robin Fleming, CEO/Owner of Miss America Opportunity, Inc.

Robin Fleming, the Chief Executive Officer and owner of the Miss America Opportunity, will be the

inspirational speaker at the Miss Virginia “Crown Luncheon” at 12 p.m. Saturday, June 28, at Hotel

Roanoke.

Fleming assumed leadership of the iconic Miss America brand in early 2023 and has since led an

ambitious transformation of the organization. With a career spanning the nonprofit and entertainment

industries, she brings a unique blend of creativity and strategic vision to her role. Her leadership is marked

by bold reforms aimed at modernizing the century-old competition. These changes include reintroducing

the term “contestant” in place of “candidate,” revamping the fitness component to feature activewear over

swimsuits, and launching the groundbreaking “HER Story” segment, which invites participants to share

powerful personal narratives as part of the talent portion.

Before stepping into the CEO role, Fleming worked with the Miss America Organization from 2008 to 2011

as a nonprofit brand partner and designer, where she played a key role in brand marketing and image

development. Her early contributions to the organization helped enhance its visual identity and public

engagement, laying the foundation for her future leadership.

In addition to her role as CEO, Fleming also serves as Chairman of the Board for the Miss America

Scholarship Foundation, further cementing her commitment to empowering women through education and

opportunity.

Prior to her executive career, Fleming founded La Casa Hermosa, a fashion house recognized nationally

for its pageant and performance designs. From 2011 to 2014, she also served as a designer and licensee

for ABC/BBC’s Dancing with the Stars, bringing her signature style to a global stage.

Her dedication to mentorship and female empowerment extends beyond business. Fleming has been featured in numerous media appearances, including a segment titled “Confidence Queen” on The Nicole Crank Show, where she spoke about self-worth, leadership, and the evolving role of women in society. With over two decades of experience in brand development, nonprofit leadership, and entertainment, Robin Ross-Fleming continues to shape the future of Miss America while encouraging the next generation of women to lead boldly and authentically.
